What a privilege it is to know and serve the Lord Jesus Christ!
The launch of this venture is the fulfilment of a vision that God put in my heart in 1980, when we planted the church here in Cochrane. It is the culmination of much prayer and hard work on the part of many wonderful brothers and sisters who caught the vision and have shared this dream with me. I thank them for their encouragement and support in putting it all together. Most of all I thank God who makes all things possible in His timing.
I believe that there is no greater knowledge that man can attain than to know God. We have prepared our programs upon this belief and have structured our teaching methods to accomplish this goal. It is our sincere desire that every student experience God and deepen their relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, and that they would learn to hear His voice clearly. Also that they become anointed by the Holy Spirit, and adequately equipped for life and ministry. All of our courses are taught from the basis of not just communicating intellectual knowledge, but upon the transmitting of Spirit-life. The ultimate goal is for each student to be thoroughly equipped for service through knowing God, and releasing His power. If we can accomplish this, then there is no limit to the potential that can be released through all those who study and train with us.
You will notice that our fees are relatively low compared to other Bible Schools and Colleges. We have done this purposefully because we want to make Bible School as affordable as possible. While we do hold regular classes at our local church, distance learning is the main feature of CBTC. Our courses and programs are available on correspondence and one can enrol conveniently through our online website. This allows flexibility for each student to study at home at their own pace in their own time. This will be of great interest to those who are unable to attend a Bible School or College because of family responsibilities and yet would like to study train for ministry. I know that this will be appealing to the many pastors and leaders who are now faithfully serving God and were called into ministry with little formal Bible College Training. Whatever your calling, circumstances or ministry goals, we have something to suit almost everyone, from those seeking personal enrichment, to those pursuing a degree.
I am truly humbled that God would entrust our church with this important task and am greatly sobered by the solemn responsibility that comes with it. I am also extremely excited at prospect of seeing Christian men and women equipped to fulfill the purposes of God in their lives and the blessing that will be released as we obey this call.
