Ephesians 4:12

WHAT WE BELIEVE

We Affirm The Apostles Creed:

I believe in God the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord.  He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary.  He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried.  He descended to the dead. On the third day He rose again.  He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.  He will come again to judge the living and the dead.  I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and in life everlasting .  Amen!

Our View Of The Holy Scriptures:

We believe that the Bible is the inerrant, authoritative, divinely inspired Word of God, and is our all-sufficient rule for faith and practice (2Tim.3:16-17).

Our View Of The Holy Spirit:

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Godhead and is given to us as a helper, comforter, teacher, and empowerer.  He enables us to do the ongoing work of Christ (John 14:26; 16:7-15; Acts 1:8; 1Cor.2:10-16). We believe that God’s intention is for every believer to be baptized with the Holy Spirit (Luke 24:49; Acts 1:5,8; 2:1-13, 38-39).  As a result we are to be continually filled with the Spirit and are commanded not to quench or grieve Him in our lives (Eph.4:30; 1Thess.5:19).

We Believe Most Assuredly:

The Bible (excluding the Apocrypha) is the inspired Word of God and is the only true revelation of God’s
truth that exists (2Pet1:20; 2Tim.3:16).

That God has revealed Himself as “ONE GOD” existing and manifest in three distinct persons, Father, Son,
and Holy Spirit (Deut.6:4; Matt.28:19; 2 Cor.13:14; 1 John 5:8).

In the test and fall of man, his lost state as recorded in the scriptures and his subsequent depravity and
inability to attain to righteousness (Gen.3:1-22; Rom.5:12; 6:23).

In the reality and personality of Satan, who is a fallen cherub. He was once the covering angel called
Lucifer of the very throne of God. Now he wields his deadly power to oppose God’s will and destroy God’s
people (Isaiah 12:12-14; Ezek.28:1-19; Rev.12:1-17).

In the Lord Jesus Christ, the only savior of mankind, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary. He
is very God and very man (Isaiah 7:14; 9:6-7; Luke 1:26-35; John 1:18).6.

That Jesus died for our sins, was buried and rose again on the third day, which is the gospel stated in the scriptures.  He also after His resurrection, personally appeared to His disciples (Rom. 4:25; 1Cor.15:1-19).

In Jesus Christ’s bodily ascension into heaven and is now seated at the place of all authority at the right hand of the Father. That the same Jesus will literally, bodily come again the second time with and for an overcoming Church, to set up His kingdom on earth (John 14:23;  1Thess.4:13-18; Rev.19:11-16).

That the salvation of man was provided through the Cross of Calvary and that through repentance and faith in Christ’s atoning work we can be saved (Rom.5:11; Eph.2:8-9; Heb.9:12).

That through apostasy, unbelief and neglect a person can backslide and fall away from the living God and become shipwrecked concerning their faith (Heb.3:12; 6:6; 1Tim.1:19; 2Pet.2:20-22).

In the necessity of Water Baptism by immersion at or subsequent to a profession of faith in Jesus Christ as savior.  It is a commandment of Christ (Matt.28:19; Acts 2:34-38).

In the Baptism of the Holy Spirit as an experience subsequent to salvation with scriptural evidence, such as speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives utterance (Acts 2:1-4; 8:14-17; 10:44-46; Gal.3;14).

In the present day operation of the nine supernatural Gifts of the Spirit as was manifested in the early Church. Further to this we believe in the healing power of Christ as manifested in both the Old and New Testaments (Acts 4:30; 1Cor.12:14; Rom.8:11; Jam.5:14; 2John1; 1Thess.5:23).

In living a Spirit-filled life of obedience to God’s will, in thought word and deed. In separating oneself from the world in both values and behavior (Eph.5:18; 1Cor.6:14; 7:1; 1John 2:15).

In celebrating the Lord’s Supper (Communion) for all believers (1Cor.11:23-32).

We believe in the family unit through the sanctity of marriage as clearly taught in the Holy Bible.  This being, that Christian Marriage is confined to the Biblical joining together of a man (male) and a woman (female), in a monogamous covenant relationship.  Further to this that the Bible teaches that a sexual relationship is only proper, between a man and a woman within the bonds of marriage, and we openly reject all other practices as sin against God (Gen.1:27-28; 2:18-25; Lev.18:1-30; Eph.5:22; 6:1-4; Rom.1:18-32

In the bodily resurrection of the dead and a day of judgment when all those who have been born again through believing on the Lord Jesus Christ will have eternal life and all those who have not been born again and believed on the Lord Jesus Christ shall suffer eternal punishment along with the devil and his angels (Mark 9:43-48; 2Thess.1:9; Rev.20:10-15).

In the Church of Jesus Christ as being the only true work of God in the earth through which He will reveal Himself and redeem mankind, and that the Church is God’s eternal purpose (Matt.16:18-19; Eph.5:27).

In the restoration of the Church to the image, power and glory of God (Acts 3:19-21; Eph.5:27: See attached sheet). That the Church represents God’s kingdom on earth, it is the place of His rule, authority and power(Matt.3:2; Luke 6:20; 12:32; Col.1:13; Jam.2:5).

That the work of the Church is to:

Follow Christ (Matt.4:20; 16:24; John 10:27).
Preach the gospel (Matt.28:19-20; Mark 16:16).
Live the truth (Rom.12:1-2; 2Cor.5:15; Gal.2:20).
Demonstrate God’s power (Acts 1:8; 2Cor.12:9).
Glorify God (Psalm 50:23; John 15:8; 1Cor.6:20)

In the five-fold ministry as gifts to the Church, in the form of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers.  That these five ministries are both present and at work in the Church today, and that they are necessary for the equipping of the saints and the perfecting of the Church (Eph.4:11-16).

That the True Church is made up of those who have been born again through repentance and believing on the Lord Jesus Christ, who have been baptized in water by immersion, and who have been filled with the Holy Spirit with Biblical evidences as taught in the scriptures (Mark 16:17-17; John 3:1-21; Acts 1:5-8; 2:4, 38-39; 10:46-48; 1Pet.1:3; 1John 4:7; 5:4).

Further to this the Church is the place where Christ is irrevocably proclaimed and seen to be the living head of the Church, and where the Holy Spirit is allowed freedom to move as He wills in all matters of faith and practice. Where the priesthood of all believers is taught and manifested in both the lifestyle of the Church and the individual believer (John 4:20-24; 1Cor.2:10; Gal.5:16-25; Eph.5:23-27; Eph.4:30; 1Thess.5:19; 1John 5:7-8; 1Pet.2:5-10; Rev.1:6; 5:10; 20:6).
